A Squirrel jig is available to purchase, if required, for fabricators who do not have cnc facilities.
This jig allows quick and accurate positioning of the Squirrel in Corian doors and also Corian cabinets.
To use the Squirrel jig
- Mark a line 90 degrees to the edge of the door where the hinge is to be positioned (not all units have hinges in the same positions)
We tend to position hinges 90mm from the top and bottom of the door, but it is up to the fabricator to decide.
- Place 2 x 10mm dowels into the holes on the side of the double Squirrel position.
- Place the Corian door face down on the bench.
- Position jig with centre scribe along pen line and dowels against the edge of the door.
- Using a 20mm diameter cutter and a 30mm guide bush, plunge cut a pocket 8mm deep leaving a minimum of 4mm of Corian thickness left.
- Fit Squirrels as usual.;i>
The other side of the jig has 3 Squirrel positions that can be used to cut holes into the side of a Corian(R) unit to take cabinet hinge plates supplied with the Squirrel hinge system.
Use the jig in the same process as above.
