External Wall Cladding
Hotel Seeko'o by King Kong

Seeko'o Hotel was designed by King Kong architecture workshop and is situated in Bordeaux, France. King Kong Architecture chose Corian, which has usually been used for interior surfacing, because the architects did not want to see a criss crossing of horizontal and and vertical joints running across the facade. A series of vast panels (5.5M high) were designed with flexible contours that the meticulously cut sheets of Corian were slotted in to. Corian had the advantage of being an impermeable, heavy duty material that did not require an additional layer of paint. The light streams freely over the facade in a play of convex and concave forms.

The panels were fitted with the Squirrel fitting system made of stainless steel and Corian which was designed and patented by Kevin Hoy of Cutting Edge www.cuttingedge-uk.com an approved method of fixing Corian for wall cladding, doors and furniture. The Corian was fabricated in France.
